Holy Eucharist

The Eucharist is considered the “source and summit” of Christian life. Instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ.

Through the Eucharist, we celebrate the memorial of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. As Catholics, we believe that Christ is really and actually present in the Eucharist.

We participate in Communion when we receive the Eucharist. All Catholics are encouraged to receive Communion at Mass, often, with devotion and reverence.
